26th of May – Nooks: A picture or description of the place you love to read at.

I have two places where I read most: public transportation and my bed. I always (read: always always always) carry a book around with me. Mostly I end up reading those books in the train or metro or whatever because I’m bored and I don’t have anything better to do. It’s entertaining and it makes the time pass.

The second place where I always read is my bed. I’m not much of a couch reader and when I read it’s when I’m in bed. I have this big (I think queen size..) bed where I can just spread out and enjoy my book. I always read before sleeping, no exceptions, and I usually keep like 3 or 4 books in my bed at a time. I sometimes also read 3 or 4 books at a time 😛

No picture as my room is a damn mess but I promise you, it’s amazing. You all should be jealous of my bed.

Bed Books

There are really only two places where I read. The first is in bed, right before I go to sleep (or after I wake up on occasion), the second is in public transportation. For some reason, I’m not much of a couch reader, unless it’s a really really gripping book. This means that I always take my books upstairs with me and put them next to me in bed before I go to sleep. Yesterday, after reading a bit of Cold Days, I put the book next to me as usual. However, I then noticed that the pile of books I had next to me had become quite big. These are the books that I’m currently sharing my bed with:

What happens is that I get a book that I want to read, read a bit and then never put it away until I have actually finished reading it. Which can be a while if you read several books at once.

Harry Potter & OotP; I got Harry out a while back when I felt in the mood for something a bit less serious. Something that you can just read and enjoy while turning your brain off for the night. I got till the part where they were starting DA, then I started reading Prep for the eclectic reader challenge. (Notice how it’s falling apart?)

Stephen King’s On Writing; I ordered this book a few weeks back because I always see these awesome quotes by Stephen King from this book. Since I am interested in writing, I’m really interested in what he has to say about it and how his creative writing process goes. I haven’t gotten far in it yet.

The Phantom of the Opera; After I finished reading The Memoirs of a Geisha, I wanted to read Phantom of the Opera. This was also the book that was under the ‘currently reading’ header on the right, right there. However, then, Cold Days came in the mail and I pretty much dropped everything to read that.

A Christmas Carol; This one’s pretty simple. The Dutch equivalent of Amazon had a post-Christmas sale and they were selling Charles Dickens books for about €3,-. Too good to pass up. After receiving in the mail, I read a couple of pages before going back to Cold Days

Cold Days; The book I really am reading. I have been waiting this for about a year and a half. I’m halfway through the book already. I expect to finish it tomorrow or the day after.

So, these are my current bed books. I expect that The Hobbit may join the group as I have just seen the movie and I have this urge to just go and read it. Gargh. You can expect a Hobbit movie review later today. Oh my god it was Epic. Too much excitement. Man.
