New Haul

I love it when I can borrow – casually steal – books from my mom. She’s an English teacher and has read / owns all the books that are still on my to-read list. It’s like free shopping!

  1. Oooooh! Pretty, pretty old books. πŸ˜€ I’ll be interested to see what you think of Dracula, I just finished it and thought it was pretty good – although quite slow going.
I read Of Mice and Men for English way back and enjoyed that too, there’s loads of symbolism and social commentary about the American dream.

I own the Hemingway book too, but haven’t read it! Happy reading. πŸ™‚

    1. Haha aren’t old books the best? Like they have soul or something πŸ˜›

I’m really looking forward to reading all of these but I’m afraid that they’re going ‘on the pile’ for now. I’m currently reading The Hobbit, which is way less difficult than I anticipated (!), but it may take me a while. After that, I don’t know. I really want to read Lord of the Flies so maybe I’ll do that one first.

They look oh so pretty in my bookcase though πŸ˜›

      1. Haha a bookworms work is never done. πŸ˜› Don’t worry, I totally get it, even when I think I know what I’m going to read next, it can all suddenly change on a complete whim. Read what you feel like reading, not what you feel you should read. πŸ™‚ I’ve made that mistake before but it’s no good picking up one book if your heart is calling out to another!
